UN3S Nickel Silicon Bronze: High-Strength Corrosion-Resistant Alloy
(BS 2875 UN3S | UNS C64700 | DIN 2.0857)
Cu 95-97% · Ni 1.5-2.5% · Si 0.5-0.8% · Cr 0.5-1.0% · ATEX Certified · Zero Maintenance
Product Overview: The Non-Sparking Workhorse
UN3S (C64700) delivers 980 MPa tensile strength and 45% IACS conductivity – outperforming phosphor bronze in extreme aerospace, marine, and oil/gas applications. Certified to BS 2875, ATEX 2014/34/EU, and NACE MR0175, it withstands 538°C intermittent heat, 15% H₂S sour gas, and seawater corrosion. Proven in Rolls-Royce turbine bushings and North Sea subsea valves since 2016.

Precision Manufacturing Process
1 Vacuum Induction Melting
O₂-free Cu + Ni/Si/Cr @ 1.180°C → <5 ppm inclusions
2 Hot Extrusion
850°C @ 25:1 ratio → directional grain flow
3 Solution Treatment
900°C × 90 min → β-phase dissolution
4 Cold Working
50% reduction → strain hardening
5 Precipitation Aging
480°C × 4 hr → Ni₂Si nano-precipitates (HV 500)
6 Quality Validation
100% ultrasonic testing + SEM analysis per BS EN 10228-3
