Aviva 37Rc Forming Die Bronze: Precision Tooling Alloy

(ASTM B505 CDA 93700 | ISO 427 Pb2Sn10Zn)

Cu 86-89% · Sn 9-11% · Zn 1-3% · Pb 0.8-1.2% · 37 Rockwell C Hardness · Zero-Galling Performance

Product Overview: The Die Lifespan Extender

Aviva 37Rc is engineered for high-pressure forming, stamping, and drawing dies requiring exceptional wear resistance and anti-galling properties. With 37 HRC hardness and 580 MPa compressive strength, it outperforms standard leaded bronzes by 2.5× in die longevity. Certified to ASTM B505ISO 427, and RoHS 2025, it withstands 150+ ton press forces while eliminating seizing in stainless steel/copper forming. Adopted by Toyota and Samsung for progressive die systems since 2022.

Top 3 Competitive Advantages

2.5× Longer Die Life

vs. CDA 932 in automotive stamping trials (150k cycles vs. 60k)

Zero Galling with Stainless

Coefficient of friction: 0.18 (vs. 0.38 for aluminum bronze)

Superior Thermal Management

50% faster heat dissipation than leaded tin bronzes

Critical Performance Features

Crack Resistance: 12% elongation prevents edge chipping in deep draws

Low Maintenance: Self-lubricating lead particles reduce grease dependency

Dimensional Stability: 0.0015 mm/mm thermal expansion (20-200°C)

Machinability: 85% free-cutting rating (vs. 100% for C360 brass)

Corrosion Resistance: Withstands coolants and synthetic lubricants

Manufacturing Process

1 Controlled Atmosphere Melting

Cu + Sn/Zn @ 1150°C → O₂ < 50 ppm to prevent oxidation

2 Centrifugal Casting

1500 RPM → pore-free density > 8.82 g/cm³

3 Solution Annealing

650°C × 4 hr → Sn homogenization

4 Age Hardening

320°C × 6 hr → Cu₃Sn precipitation (delta-phase)

5 Precision Machining

Grinding to ±0.01 mm tolerance

6 Quality Assurance

Ultrasonic testing + Brinell hardness mapping
